Marthea Lindrud was born in Sondre Land, Norway October 30, 1854, the eldest child of Andrew and Gunhild Lindrud. At the age of six she came to America with her parents and resided in French Creek until her marriage to Tennes Tenneson, after which they moved to the present home in Trempealeau Valley where she passed away Monday, October 20, 1941, after an illness of ten weeks. Her husband preceded her in death October 9, 1937.

There are seven children:
1. Ida of Beach, North Dakota;

2. Albert of Blair; married Clara O Arneson, after her death, married in 1942 to Mrs Anna (Severson) Simenson

3. John G Tennyson (1881-1942) of Mt. Vernon, WA;
4. Melvin of St. Paul;
5. Thomas at home;
6. T. Marie of Eau Claire and
7. Nora at home.

She is also survived by one brother, Andrew Lindrud of Long Prairie, Minnesota, twenty-seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the home and at the Trempealeau Valley Lutheran church with Rev. Bringle officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
