Robert R. Raap Sr., 70, founder and president of the former Union Paint and Varnish company, died yesterday in Downey veterans hospital, where he had been a patient for the last three years. He was a Spanish-American war veteran and past commander of McKinley post of Spanish-American War veterans. Survivors are a son, Robert R. Jr., and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday in the chapel at 4930 Irving Park rd. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
