Samuel Joseph Stabile of Orlando, formerly of Greensburg, PA, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born in Allison, PA, September 26, 1923. He is survived by Florence, his wife of 65 years; daughter Carole Stabile Libelo and grandchildren Rachel and Christopher Libelo of Waldorf, MD; daughter Terri Stabile of Oviedo, FL; son and daughter-in-law Don and Joyce Edwards Stabile and granddaughters Kailey and Kristina Stabile of Oviedo, FL. He is also survived by his brother Albert Stabile and sister Rose Marie Stabile.Mr. Stabile served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Army First Air Division during World War II. He was a decorated soldier stationed in London, England. He completed his college education after receiving an honorable discharge from the army. Sam spent his career with Westinghouse Corporation and was well respected in his field of turbine generator insulation.Along with his wife, Sam spent many of his retirement years as an active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Apopka, FL. He was passionate in his contribution to establishing a food and clothing pantry at the church through the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.The family will hold a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks.
