CITY MOTORIST'S DEATH LAID TO NATURAL CAUSES

Death of a Duluth motorist six hours after his car struck a parked auto resulted from natural causes, Dr. Cyril M. Smith, St. Louis county coroner, said last night.
John W. Peterson, r., 47, of 1617 Piedmont avenue, died at 2:50 a.m. yesterday in St. Luke's hospital. His vehicle struck a car near 114 North First avenue west about 9 p.m. Saturday.
Dr. Smith said an autopsy revealed that death was caused by a brain hemorrhage. The hemorrhage apparently began before the accident and caused Peterson to become dizzy as he drove, the coroner said.
There was no evidence, he added, of injuries caused by the collision.
A witness told police that Peterson got out of the car after the accident, walked to the rear of his vehicle and collapsed. Police said Peterson was driving the wrong direction down First avenue west, a one-way street.
Owner of the parked car is Dominic Mancuso, 5148 London road, police reported.
Peterson was born in Duluth and a life-long resident here.
He was a veteran of World War II and was an oven operator for Zinsmaster Bread Co. the past 25 years. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Brethren church and the Bakers union local 59.
Surviving are his wife, Harriet; his father, John W., Duluth; a son, John W. III, who is with the navy in Newport, R.I., and a brother, Anton, Duluth.
