Clarice Emma McClaughry 63, Of Hume, Mo., passed at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott Kansas on Thursday, September 22. She was born July 11, 1914 at Wichita, Kansas the daughter of W. Bert and Emma C. (Rothe) Fry. On May 7, 1935 she married to Harry Clem McClaughry at Wichita. From Wichita they moved first to Lee Summit Mo., for a few months and then to the Hume area in 1948. She was a member of the Hume United Methodist church and president of it's Women's Society. She was employed as a clerk with the Littlefield Grocery in Hume. She is survived by her husband, Harry of the home; one son, Kenneth McClaughry, Nevada Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Smarsh and Mrs. Suzann L. New, both of Wichita her mother, Mrs. Emma Fry, Wichita; Three brothers, James Fry, Whittier, Calf; Richard Fry, Wichita, and Donald Fry, Prov, Utah ; Four sisters, Miss Leonora Fry and Mrs. Alberta Marley, both of Wichita, Mrs.Stella Taylor, Newcastle, Delware, and Virginia Alexander, Albuquerque, New Mexico; eight grandchildren.
Services were held 2 p.m.Sunday at the Hume United Methodist Church with Rev. Loren Wofe officiating. Music was provided by Phyllis Sumner, soloist; Manetta Horton, organist. Casket bearers were Gary Thompson, Jim Hawks, Frank Yarick, Elwood Liggett, Noel Elledge, James McGee; Honorary bearers were Ike Trout, Arthur LeNeve, Floyd Littlefield and John Coon.
Graveside services were conducted at White Chapel Memorial Garden, Wichita, 2 p.m.Monday. Services were under the direction of Torneden Funeral Home, Hume, Mo.
