Gail Marilyn Spence of Duluth, Minn. passed away Friday, March 17, in the St. Mary's Medical Center with family by her side. Gail was born Sept. 3, 1935 in Duluth to Allyn and Dagne (Sorvick) Spence. Gail attended school in Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1953. She was a legal secretary for Leo Burak until moving to Minneapolis. She worked as a legal secretary in Minneapolis until taking a job as office manager for The Salvation Army Adult Rehab Center. She retired from The Salvation Army in 1993 due to her muscular dystrophy. Gail was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Spence of Sioux Falls, S.D.; her mother, Dagne Spence of Duluth; her brother, Gary (Anne) Spence of Ariz. and Idaho; niece, Heidi (Dan) Gebbe of Beaverton, Ore.; nephew, Scott Spence of Ariz. and Idaho, special cousin, Donna Seger-Olsen of Duluth; and several other cousins and friends. MEMORIAL SERVICE:3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, in Christ Lutheran Church, 2415 Ensign St., Duluth. Rev. Michael Main willl conduct the service. Memorials preferred to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc.
