JASPER — John R. Towsley, 86, Justice of the Peace in the Town of Jasper for over 25 years, died at bis home Thursday after an illness of eight months.
The deceased was a life long resident of Jasper. On October 25, 1888, he was united in marriage to Mae Cole, who survives.
He was a charter member and first Master of Robinson Masonic Lodge, a member of Restoration Lodge in Woodhull and the Steuben County Past Masters Association. He was a teacher in earlier years.
Survivors include his widow: one daughter. Mrs. Forrest J. Loper.
