Born in Pymatuning Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania in 1877, Emma (Landfried) Scott was the daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Gartz) Landfried, and the wife of Trumball County, Ohio native, Farrious Fayette Scott (1877-1949).

In 1910, Emma and Fay resided in Pymatuning Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania with their Pennsylvania-born children: Horatio (born around 1902), Margaret (born around 1904), Clara (born on 8 November 1905), Howard S. (born around 1909), and Esther V. (born in 1910). Emma's 65-year-old father, Phillip Landfried, was also living with the family at this time.

In 1920, still in Pymatuning Township, the Scott family also now included: Karl H. (born around 1913), Walter A. (born around 1915), and Helen V. (born around 1917).

By the time of the 1930 federal census, Fay and Emma's children, Horatio and Margaret, were no longer shown as residents of the Scott home. By 1940, Emma's father, Phillip Landfried, was living with her brother, Karl. Emma and Fay's daughter, Esther, had married New York native, William Wilds (born around 1903), and had daughter, Shirley (aged 2). All three of the Wilds were now living at the Scott home in Pymatuning, along with Fay and Emma's daughter, Helen.

On 2 August 1949 at 9:40 a.m., Fay Scott widowed Emma, passing away from heart disease-related complications at the C.H. Buhl Hospital in Sharon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He was interred at the West Side Cemetery in Sharpsville.

Emma followed her husband in death just over a year later, passing away from heart disease-related complications at the Sharon General Hospital in Sharon, Mercer County on 2 November 1950. She was interred at the West Side Cemetery in Sharpsville on 5 November 1950. H.F. Scott was the informant on her death certificate. L.A. Love & Son handled her funeral arrangements.
