Aberdeen - Mass of Christian Burial for John Thomas Day, 53, Aberdeen, will be Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 Third Ave. N.E. Father Gregory Tschakert will officiate. A liturgical wake service will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory.

John Thomas Day was born Jan. 18, 1952, to John and Ednamae (Thomas) Day in Pierre, S.D. He grew up in Onida and graduated from Onida High School in 1970. John attended Northern State College, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in 1974. He was employed with Aberdeen National Bank until 1976 when he became part owner and operator of the Circus Sports Bar and Grill.

John married Penny Dix on March 23, 2001 in Port Aransas, Texas. John was an avid hunter and golfer. He enjoyed traveling and was a big fan of the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Joe.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Penny of Aberdeen; one son, Brady (Kim) Day of Maple Grove, Minn.; one daughter, Jennifer Day of Green Bay, Wis.; two stepsons, Jake Wald of Mankato, Minn., and Jordan Wald of Aberdeen; his mother, Ednamae Kuszmaul of Pierre; his sister-in-law, Karen Whiting of Pierre; two nephews Doug and Derek Day and niece Dana Day; one stepbrother, Larry Kuszmaul of Pierre; and one stepsister, Rita Malavotte of Arizona.

Pallbearers will be Tom Tonner, Larry Braun, Jim Koehler, Tim Hofer, Dan Fritz, and Warren Schumacher.
