Maxatawny, Funeral of Mrs. Magdalena Kieffer. The funeral of Mrs. Magdalena Kieffer, wife of Peter Kieffer, Sr, was largely attended. Services were held Saturday morning at her late home which was with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Mertz. After the services at the house the funeral cortege proceeded to Christ Reformed Church, Bowers, where further services were held. Rev. George B. Smith officiated. The remains rested in a solid oak casket, on which was a silver plate inscribed "At Rest." The bearers were David Dietrich, George Drey, Joel Biehl, and Jonathon Bailey. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the Reformed Church at Bowers. T. DeLong had charge of the funeral.
