Tella “Joan” Barnes, age 82, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, in the Aurora Nursing Center, Aurora, Missouri.
She was born March 6, 1933, in Barry County, Missouri, the daughter of Teddie Loman and Tella Mae (Short) Brinley, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Teddie “Junior” Brinley and one sister Jessie Miller.

Joan is survived by one son, Kent Barnes and his wife Kelly of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Hembree and her husband Mike of Crane, Missouri; one brother, John Brinley of Kansas; one sister, Mary Springer of Aurora, Missouri; four grandchildren, Penny Mills and her husband Nathan of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Alecia Helms of Lincoln, Arkansas, David Barnes of Cassville, Missouri, and Garrett Barnes of Cassville, Missouri and three great grandchildren, Alex Mills, Avery Helms and Andrew Mills.

Joan, as most people knew her, lived in Southwest Missouri her entire life. She attended Charity School at Marionville, Missouri and graduated from Marionville High School. For several years she was employed at Vaisey Bristol Shoe Factory in Marionville. Joan was a very active member of Faith Community Chapel Church in Cassville, Missouri. She enjoyed being a grandmother to the children through the Grandmother Program at the Cassville Schools.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services. There will be a private burial.
