Ilion- Peter J. Carney, 34 W. State St., died Mar. 21, 1943 in Herkimer Memorial. He had been a resident of Illon for more than 40 years and formerly worked in Remington Rand plant #1. He was born in Ireland son of John and Serah Fitzgerald Carney. He came to this country 40 years ago, and retired two years ago. He was a communicant of the Church of the Annunciation and was a member of Ilion Council, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are two sisters. Miss Catherine Carney, Ilion, and Mrs. Mary Lenahan, Iowa; seven brothers, Richard, Thomas, Bernard and Philip, all of Ilion; and Michael, Albany; Patrick and Connor in Ireland; also several nieces and nephews.
