Patrick "Rick" Ashworth, age 38 of Belvidere, died Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. He was born in Jackson, Michigan and was a timberman. He is survived by daughters, Tonia Marie Ashworth and Amy Marie Ashworth, both of Belvidere; sons, Patrick Richard Ashworth, Jr., and Harold Richard Ashworth, both of Belvidere; parents, Arthur Ray Ashworth and Patricia Ashworth of Winchester; sisters, Karen Ann Ashworth of Hillsboro and Angela Sue DeToy of Iowa; brothers, Arthur Ray Ashworth, Jr. and Daniel Lee Ashworth, both of Winchester; five nieces, three nephews, and a special friend, Denise Prince. The service will be Friday, September 12, 2003 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Bill Owens officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

Man Killed in Accident --

A 38-year-old Winchester man was killed Tuesday morning in Moore County after a tree fell on him during a logging operation.

Moore County Sheriff's Department reports identified the man as Patrick R. Ashworth, 503 East Elm Street, Winchester.

Reports said he was an employee for Ray Evans Loggins Co., Inc., of Belvidere.

The accident happened about 8:10 a.m. in an area below Hickory Hills Baptist Church near Tanyard Road, reports said.

Reports said Ashworth apparently cut a tree, and whe it fell, another tree attached with a vine toppled on him.

He was pronounced dead at Harton Regional Medical Center.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Chapel.
