Harvey James Parkinson, 78, of Waynesburg R.D. 4, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 1964, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted Monday afternoon after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage in Waynesburg.
He was born April 5, 1885, in Washington, a son of Harvey James and Margaret Grimm Parkinson.
All of his life was spent in the Waynesburg vicinity where he was a farmer.
His wife, Lucy Montgomery Parkinson, died in 1924.
Surviving are six daughters, Fannie, wife of Lewis Cunningham, of Rices Landing; Belle, wife of Grover Kiger, of Waynesburg, R.D. 4; Mae, wife of Clarence Mitchell, of Wellsburg, W. Va.; Mrs. Alice Knight, of Waynesburg; Florence, wife of George Henderson, of Waynesburg R.D. 3, and Mrs. Virginia Thomas, of Waynesburg, R.D. 4, and one son, Albert (Bud), of Sycamore, R.D. 1.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Charles, of Claysville, and Stanley, of Washington, and one sister, Mrs. Belle Cox, of Fairmont, W. Va.
Two sons, James and Lewis, are deceased.
