Death of George Lane
George Elmer Lane, 63, died suddenly from heart trouble at his home about four miles east of town Tuesday evening. He had worked during the day and succumbed while sitting at home with his family in the evening.
The son of Daniel and Eleanor Lane, deceased was born near Morocco August 1, 1878. He was married to Lulu Benight at the Morocco Methodist Church in the year 1919. Three children were born to this union*, one of whom died in infancy. The other two are Mrs. Esther Hoshaw and Mrs. Ruth Barr, both of Crown Point. He was a member of the Baptist church.
In addition to the widow and two children, he is survived by three brothers--John of Iowa, William of Morocco and Eugene of Ohio; also two sisters--Mrs. Fletcher Dirst of Fair Oaks and Mrs. John Starkey of Morocco.
Funeral services are to be held at the Hancock Chapel here at 2 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. V.E. Squibb, the pastor, officiating, with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
*NOTE: Daughter Ruth was from Lulu's first marriage.
