Ann Elizabeth Ohlin Downey, age 80, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, wife of the late John Downey, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Ann was born in Bridgeport and had been a lifelong city resident. Ann will be fondly remembered as a loving wife mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, John G. Downey, Aaron and Arthur Downey, all of Bridgeport, a daughter Anne Panek of Milford, grandchildren, JoAnna, Sandy, Heather Marie, Timothy Aaron, Jamie Lee, Joseph and Kelly, a special niece Erica Collins and her husband Rich as well as several additional nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her sons, Robert, Joseph, Lawrence and William, a brother Eric Ohlin and sister Lucille Nemeth. Calling hours will be held on Thursday ( TODAY ) from 5-8pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with a prayer service honoring her memory as well that of her recently deceased son, William .
