Buried in the mausoleum along with her husband Nicholas Hook. Emma was the daughter of Calvin Schuyler and Maria (van Dusen) Hook. Emma and Nicholas Hook came to Gravette, Arkansas in a covered wagon from Brooking, Jackson County, Missouri around 1898. Their first home was the little log cabin at the Spanish Treasure Cave. They purchased the land and cabin from the people who lived there, and when they arrived the people had not moved out yet but were having a going-away party. Emma and Nicholas joined them in their party and slept that first night in their covered wagon. The former owners left the next day and Emma, Nicholas, and their four children, Augusta, Fred, George and Harry, moved into their new home.
