Death of Mrs. Agar.
It is our painful duty this week to announce the death of Mrs. John Agar, of Lock Haven, formerly Miss Sarah Farley, of this place [Bellefonte, PA], daughter of Mrs. Farley, on Bishop street. Mrs. Agar died on the 5th instant from the combined effects of ague and a bealed breast, from which she had just weaned a fifteen months' old child. She was 33 years of age, and a lady of the most interesting and admirable character, both as a wife and mother. Before her marriage to Mr. Agar, she was a music teacher in Bellefonte and the choir leader in the Catholic church. Her death has caused a great sorrow to many hearts, for she had hosts of friends, among whom were many ardent admirers. We knew her personally from her childhood and can bear testimony to her estimable and unblemished reputation. She was a strict Catholic, a kind hearted, generous, loving and devoted woman, and her loss is an irreparable one to her family and a great blow to her friends generally. She was buried at Lock Haven, at her husband's request, the funeral sermon being preached by Father Reilley of Bellefonte. Watchman.
