Clyde Jay Yancey Sr., 79, of Sarasota, formerly of Myakka City, died May 7, 2001, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Palms Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Bay Shore Mennonite Church, 3809 Chapel Drive, Sarasota. Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Duane Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Park, Sarasota. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Florida Affiliate, P.O. Box 15587, Sarasota, Fla. 34277-1587, or to the American Diabetes Association Gift of Remembrance Headquarters, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, No. 415, Maitland, Fla. 32751-7105.
Born in Lowville, N.Y., Mr. Yancey came to Manatee County from there in 1959. He was the owner and operator of Clyde Yancey and Sons Dairy Farm Inc., Myakka City. He attended Bay Shore Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Estella; a daughter, Brenda Kolb of Sarasota; five sons, Clyde Jr., Ronald, and Christopher, all of Myakka City, Bruce, of Archbold, Ohio, and Eugene, of Sarasota; two sisters, Arletha Knechter of Abbeville, S.C., and Beulah Widrick of Lowville; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
