My great-great-great grandma was born in 1850 in Tennessee. Her parents were Stephen Haflin and Betty Sawyers. Her surname is given as many different things: Hufland, Haflin, even Huflowd. I think Huflin was probably their original Irish surname. She married Bert Hensley and had at least two children, to my knowledge - Stephen Hensley and Alice Hensley Calahan. Bert died of natural causes and Sara moved in with her son, Stephen, who had four children that he was trying to raise alone. She would cook most of the meals, and she taught her oldest granddaughter, Roxie, a lot of what she knew about cooking and home remedies.I'm unsure about her date of death, or any burial info. Many thanks to Carolyn (M&C) for providing me with the Huflin surname and a birth year. :)
