PID by her parents David and Jennie (nee Smith) Reiss, and siblings, Joseph J. Reiss, Mary C. Pleasant, and unnamed twin sisters who died shortly after their births. In 1925, her father accepted employment as a tool and die maker in Houston and relocated his family from Indianapolis, Indiana. Margie attended George Washington Junior High and graduated from Reagan High School in 1932. Her cousin attended Texas A&M College, and introduced her to his roommate, Carter Wimberly. Margie and Carter were married in 1936 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Houston, Texas. She was a charter member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, and held various offices in the Ladies' Altar Society and Mothers' Club. Margaret was a very accomplished homemaker and an excellent cook. Her pies were always big hits with her family, and favorites included chocolate, lemon, and coconut meringue, pecan, baked custard, and most everyone's extra-special favorite, cherry pie. Her mother taught her to make piecework quilts, and she made family members and close friends some beautiful quilts that will surely become treasured keepsakes. She was very skillful at sewing, and made most of her young children's clothes. She could also crochet, embroider and knit with ease and used these skills as she prepared most of her grandchildrens' layettes. Gardening was a special favorite pastime for Margie. She loved her yard, and its spaciousness allowed a wide variety of plants and she enjoyed growing African violets. For many years, she was an active ladies' league bowler and member of Houston WBA. She remained mentally acute, watched CNN daily and enjoyed sharing the daily crossword puzzle with her husband. Margaret will be deeply missed by her family.
Surviving her is her husband of 69 years, Carter Wimberly

Interment held on Saturday, 30 July 2005.
