Barbara Allen, age 91, passed away in Ormond Beach, FL with her sons by her side on April 28, 2015.
Barbara was born in French Lick, IN to the late Kenneth and Olive Mandel. She moved to the area in 1966 from Cape Girardeau, MO with her husband William H. Allen, Sr. to whom she was married 53 years. Barbara will be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Her pets also held a special place in her heart, especially her cats. Bobbie will be missed deeply by her family and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, William, who passed away in 2004 and her eldest son Richard Allen, who passed away in 1969 as result of his honorable service to our country in Vietnam.
Survivors include her sons, Steve Allen of South Daytona, FL and William H. Allen, Jr. (Patti) of Daytona Beach, FL. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Richard Allen, Benjamin Allen, Daniel Allen, Scott Faulkner and 3 great- grandchildren, Piper, Bella and Willow.
The family has asked that donations be made in Bobbie's memory to The Halifax Humane Society, to commemorate her love of pets. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home chapel from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
