In 1910 he and Yola and their five youngest children lived in a place they were renting at 745 Hawkins Avenue in North Braddock, PA. He worked as a laborer in shops, George as a paper hanger doing odd jobs, and William and Charles as laborers in a wire mill.

In 1920 he and his wife and their son Bernard lived in a house they were renting at 30 Lundine Street (near Corey Avenue and First Street) in Braddock. He worked as a lathe hand for WE+M Company and Bernard worked in the machine trade for AG+W Company.

Dorothy worked as a housekeeper, with an income in 1939 of $200 for 26 weeks of work.
