Immigrated to Australia with her parents on the "Subroan", arriving 12th April, 1848 with her parents Maurice and Bridget Collins and brothers John and Patrick.

Married William Beckett in Ipswich in 13/11/1861 at St Mary's Ipswich.

Catherine was the first "White Woman" to cross the Ballone.

Catherine and William settled on William property Tartulla Station. Had 6 sons and 6 daughters. Died in Brisbane and Buried at Toowong

Catherine's daughter Isabella Katherine Pickup (nee Beckett) is also in the same plot.

Catherine's headstone shows she was 80 years old when she died in 1926, however Immigration records put her age at 7 yrs, brother John 9yrs and brother Patrick 2yrs on arrival to Australia in 1848. Therefore Catherine - born about 1840 - and her age would have been 86 yrs old or close to that....

Catherine and her brothers were born in Ireland and her sister Mary Josephine was born in Australia in 1849...

Her husband William Beckett is buried at Surat
