Agnes Loring Boswell, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, favorite aunt and dear friend, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2015 in her home in Houston, TX. Aggie was born August 2, 1919 in Morganton, North Carolina to Charles T. and Chrystella Bristol. Her family returned to McKinney, TX in 1920 where she grew up with her brother George and sister, Annie Catherine. Aggie attended Texas Women's University before moving to California in 1942 where she worked as a governess and later as a key-punch operator at a naval ship yard.

Agnes married Robert Edward Boswell, her Texas sweetheart, in Berkley, CA where he was serving in the Merchant Marines. In 1945 Aggie and Rob returned to Texas to raise their family. The five Boswell children thrived in the lively, loving Houston home that Aggie created. She was president of the PTA, an avid supporter of Sparks Swim Team, and a member of the Welsey Players at St Matthews Methodist Church where the second row was "reserved" for her family on Sunday mornings. Aggie and Rob moved to Dallas, TX in 1977 when Rob became CEO/owner of the G.R. Haley Company. They returned to Houston in 2007. Aggie will be remembered for her wit and charm, her impeccable style, her crowd-pleasing cooking, and her vibrant, independent spirit.

Agnes Boswell was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister, her grandson, John McMurray, and Rob, her beloved husband of 69 years. She is survived by her children, son, Robert M. Boswell, and his family, Kristen and husband Chad Heller and their daughters Katie and Abby, and Gretchen and husband Forbes McMullin, and their children Forbes, William, and Julia; son Edward "Peck" Boswell and wife Mary and their family, Heather Boswell and her son Braden, and Vanessa and husband Chase Banks and their daughters Bailee and Kennedy; daughter Christina Boswell Sillavan and her daughter Karly and husband Walter Donnell and their daughter Stephanie; daughter Catherine and husband David McMurray and their family, Kelly and husband Grant Wilcox and their children Jackson, Matthew and Paige, Jeromy McMurray and his son Seth, and Morgan and husband Christopher Broyles and their daughters Jenna and Natalie; and daughter Laura and husband Richard Fitzpatrick and their children Conor and Bridget.

Visitation will be April 17th at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039
