Summary
Oscar Allison of the Grayson neighborhood visited the Standard office last Saturday and told us that last April he and Miss Leona Beguin were married at Alliance. The fact had been kept secret until this time, only the contracting parties knew. This comes as a great surprise to the friends of the two young people who are well known in the Sheridan Co. Oscar the son of Harvey Allison, a prominent south-end rancher, and is presently teaching at Grayson. His bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Beguin of Colclesser, attended Rushville school and also taught in this county. Both work at Chadron Normal.

This marriage resulted in the birth of son, Kenneth Walter Allison (8 Dec 1921 - 16 May 2012). He lived with his maternal grandparents: Ernest and Constance Beguin in Sheridan Co., NE. Leona married Herluf Laursen in 1934. Leona (1904-1993), memorial 84498743.

Fremont, NE - 20 Jun - Miss Ida M Johnson (Mr. and Mrs. Eph Johnson) married Oscar B Allison, of Lincoln, at the First Christian parsonage in Fremont Saturday (18 Jun). Miss Mary Johnson and Eph Johnson Jr. attended them. The bride has been supervisor of music in schools at Cozad for several years.

Oscar Allison, 81, died this morning at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 19, 1902 in the Sandhills near Alliance, and had worked for the Shell Oil Co. in California prior to retiring. He and his wife, Ida, returned to Alliance in 1975 and she preceded him in death in 1979. He is survived by nieces Joan Hunter of Marsland, Leone Panwitz of Alliance, and Shirley Ryan of Chadron; nephews Richard Bowman of Alliance and Edward Scheer of Chadron, and a cousin, Allison Johnson of Hemingford. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
