Harold Eugene Calloway

Harold Eugene Calloway, 72, died April 22, 2015, with family by his side in Topeka, Kansas. He was born July 11, 1941, in Topeka to Namon and Essie Dee Calloway. His father worked for Hill’s Pet Nutrition in Topeka, Kansas. His mother performed missionary work for the Church of the Living God.
Harold spent much of his time with family and friends, as his passion was people. In 1975 he married Judy Fay Talbot of Marysville, Kansas. He worked for the Shawnee County Road Crew until retirement. In his retirement, he worked for The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Topeka and Laidlaw.
He was a member of the West Side Baptist Church of Topeka. He also was a member of the Euclid Masonic Lodge in Topeka. His interests included family, gardening, camping and woodworking.
Mr. Calloway is survived by his wife, Judy Fay Calloway; sons, Harold (Hart) Smith, James Llamas, Jamie Burnett, Namon Calloway II, Mark Calloway; daughters, Adee Howard, Bernadette Anderson, Ginna Redding; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerome Calloway, sisters, Sula Fitchett and Rev Carolyn Calloway and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Namon Calloway; Mother Essie Dee Calloway; Brother Theron Calloway; and Sister Joyce Carter.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 28 at 10:00 am with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 am at West Side Baptist Church, located at 1008 SW 4th Street, Topeka, KS. 6666. Memorials may be sent to West Side Baptist Church of Topeka.
