Alberta C. "Bert" Creaser, age 96, of Watertown, SD, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Watertown. Private family graveside services will be held this summer at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. There will be no visitation.

Alberta Christine Creaser was born on April 22, 1916 to John and Tena (Reetz) Gluth in Morgan, MN. She attended school in Morgan and graduated in 1934. It was there where she met Everett Creaser, who managed the Morgan Grain Elevator for his father, F.P. Creaser of Watertown.

Bert and Everett were united in marriage on June 4, 1937 at the First United Methodist Church in Morgan and lived there until 1943 when they moved to Watertown. Everett continued working for her father at F.P. Creaser & Sons and Rauville Grain. Mr. Creaser passed away on March 5, 1974.

Bert was an incredible person, whose life was a blessing to many. Her family was her life and those who survive her have so much to be thankful for. They are sad at her passing, but are celebrating her life of honorable, godly living on earth. Love was her watchword and that love was returned to her by all who knew her. Bert was a talented seamstress, a great cook and was most happy when she was doing things for others. Her signature dessert was a white cake with lemon filling topped with a seven minute frosting, which was frequently requested by her family for their birthdays and special occasions. She also made hundreds of baby quilts for the gift shop at St. Ann's Hospital (now Prairie Lakes Health Care System) until her eyesight made it impossible to continue.

Bert was an active 70 year member of the First United Methodist Church , where she also worked for several years, and was a member of Chapter AV of P.E.O.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett; five brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Harry, Walter and Vernon Gluth; one sister, Nina Selke; her son-in-law, Dan Bergan; and her great granddaughter, Ellie Anderson.

Bert will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Barbara (John) Sandquist of Port Ludlow, WA, Phyllis Bergan of Watertown, Marilyn (Dan) Griswold of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jean (Maurice) Boeding of Toledo, OH; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
