Thomas immigrated in 1865. His sister, Bridgid Delia Hickey Galliher, and her family followed from Ireland in 1866.
In 1875 he married Margaret Cecelia Cook. They had 8 children, six living to adulthood. He worked in the woolen mill as an overseer. They owned their home on 12 Atlas St. in Providence, where they lived for decades.
