Florence E. Corts went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 5, 2015. Born in 1918, our beloved Flossie was a spit-fire with a zest for life having been a nurse anesthetist for almost 50 years, serving as First Lieutenant in the Army, raising four children, and ending her career serving veterans at the VA hospital.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David T. Corts (USAF retired), her parents William and Florence Eisenbrown, and her daughter Shaaron Lenox. She is survived by her daughter Chris Patefield (A.J.), sons David "Chip" Corts (Claire), Donn Corts (Barbara), her sister, Mary Bruno and seven grandchildren.

The family has the utmost gratitude, thanks and appreciation to the staff at Carmel Hills for their dedication, love and care shown to "Cortsie" over the last three years. A very special thank you to the hospice staff at Presbyterian Medical Center for their many hours of care and comfort and Father Mark Lawlor who has been faithful in weekly visits to Florence for many years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Church in the Chapel of the Holy Family in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, May 7th at 10am. Burial with military honors will be at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC on Friday, May 8th at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carmel Hills: 2801 Carmel Road, Charlotte NC 28226. J.B. Tallent Funeral Service is assisting the family.
