May 19, 2016: This information was provided by findagrave member Dorothy about Charles' wife:

"Mary Elizabeth / Marietta KIRK
23 Apr 1886 Adams Twp, Wapello, IA (not Davis Co.) Parents Warren KIRK and Ella Jane KINNEY.
Her mother gave consent for her to get married to Charles Welsey Swope on 27 Apr 1905 in Ottumwa.

Looks like she died after 1922 but before 1925 because I found him widowed in IA 1925 census - his name was C W SWEPE with two kids Elmer SWOPE and dau Bernier (should be Bernice) SWOPE.

I am unable to find a death record for Mary. I am unable to find further info on Bernice - according to Charles' obit, she was not mentioned at all so I suspect she died young either as a teen or young lady."

Update of May 23, 2021: Information from Mary, the wife of Charles, sent to Dorothy from Mary's death certificate.
