GREAT FALLS - Jerome F. "Jerry" D'Hoey, age 62, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2006, at his home, due to natural causes.
He was born on May 18, 1943, to Joseph D'Hoey and Margaret (Ebach) D'Hoey. He was raised in Billings and attended West High School. On Oct. 10, 1963, he married Sandra "Sue" Gradle and they had two children.
Jerry worked for Dietz Auto Salvage for 10 years before starting his own auto salvage, Jerry's Auto Salvage. In 1990, he moved to Great Falls to continue his career in the auto salvage business.
Jerry's favorite pastime was going out in his boat fishing. He was looking forward to taking his grandsons out on the lake this summer. His other favorite pastime was darts. He was always ready to take on a challenger and he had received several trophies. He also enjoyed sprint car racing and NASCAR. He was proud of his pitman awards and was always willing to help a fellow racer. Jerry's friends often brought him mechanical items that needed repair.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Margaret Beise of Billings; his daughter, Heather (Jim) Rahr and grandsons J. T and Jesse Rahr of Billings; his son, Michael D'Hoey of Billings; his sister, Mary (Bill) Zent of Billings. Also surviving are one nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Nancy Bastoni and her husband John.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
We would like to thank Dad's friends who stuck by him, especially Ike and Shannon Wadsworth. We love and miss you, Dad!
