Great Grandpa George Washington Hamilton was born to Zeri & Jane (nee Blackford) Hamilton at home in the Hamilton Family home at Hamilton Avenue near Meridian Avenue, San Jose, Santa Clara, California.
In 1861 the town of San Jose borders were to the northwest of the family's 160-acre homestead, orchard & farm. Their homestead was also bordered on the north by Jane Blackford Hamilton's family's 160-acre homestead, orchard and farm. The Blackford homestead belonged to her father, Samual Adams Blackford (1799 Berkshire, Massachusetts - Santa Clara, California).
