Ramon Lee "Ray" Avera, 57, of New Plymouth, a rancher, died Monday, July 24, 1995, near New Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth.
Ray was born July 1, 1938, at Tonopah, Nev., a son of Herbert and Edna Avera. He grew up and attended schools in Las Vegas, Nev. He moved to Idaho in 1986, and later purchased and operated a ranch in New Plymouth. He enjoyed ranching, rodeos, hunting, fishing and country music.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Bobby; three sons, Kenny and Ronnie of Sparks, Nev., and Denny of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Theresa Tabor and Debbie Benson of Sparks, Nev.; two brothers, Gene of New Plymouth and Mike of Nampa; three sisters, Patricia Scardi of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Susie Schorzman of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Delores Bea Sappington of Homer, Alaska; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.
