Jim served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. He held various jobs in insurance and real estate before settling into a career related to his lifelong passion for automobiles. After a number of years with Murphy Chevrolet, he was employed by what is now the Jones Auto Group, where he loved both his work and place of employment. In his 33 years with Jones, he served as a salesman and wholesaler; up until three years ago he still worked part time by representing Jones and Burkholder Auto at various area auto auctions.
In addition to his beloved wife, Jim is survived by two daughters: Jan, wife of Timothy Bowman (Stoystown, PA) and Anita, wife of Dr. Mark Jarowenko (Lancaster); grandchildren: Erin, wife of James Hosfield; R. Wesley Bowman; and Andrew Jarowenko. He is also survived by brothers: Andy, Barry, and Jack Albright, as well as a sister, Beverly Albright.
Jim and Ellen shared a love of antiquing and of gardening, working many hours together in their yard. They also enjoyed time together traveling and at car shows, where Jim garnered over 60 trophies for his various street rods. A mutual love of animals led to numerous pets over the years, including their well loved Yorkies, Winston and Belle.
