Mardi Benson Hill passed away peacefully, April 27th, Monday evening at home. She was a wonderful wife and mother of 7 daughters, one son, 38 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a devoted husband. Mardi served faithfully for many years as a volunteer room mother in Meridian schools and had the experience of 30 days as a substitute legislator for her husband while he was recuperating from back surgery. Mardi was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served many years as primary president, relief society president, and in a stake relief society presidency along with many teaching opportunities. She especially loved sharing her great love of music. She was a wonderful homemaker, working 24-7 to create a happy home where all have loved to come back to enjoy. She was always a strong supporter of her family's activities, attending hundreds of events of her children and grandchildren.Mardi was a wonderful artist and was able to decorate her home (with modest means) to make it a special place and environment for all. Mardi always had a great love of life and love for friends. One of her themes was "At home, find comfort and rest."Mardi was born June 14, 1941 to George T. and Billie Benson. She finished two years of college at BYU, and married Boyd Hill August 31, 1960. Boyd and Mardi's children were born in San Francisco, Idaho Falls, Alaska, Washington, and Boise and have lived in the same home in Meridian for 41 years.Mardi clearly generated a love at home atmosphere. She sincerely believed "There is beauty all around, when there's love at home."She will be dearly loved and missed by all her family and many friends. We will always love you Mardi. Your resting place is now in Heaven.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the LDS Chapel located at 3775 E. Ustick Rd. in Meridian.
