Class of 1954, The United States Military Academy at West Point. Masters Degree in Nuclear Physics from Tulane University in New Orleans.

Two combat deployments to Vietnam as well as tours in Italy, Germany and Brazil.

Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star Medal w/ four Oak Leaf Clusters and “V” device for Valor, the Purple Heart, the Air Medal w/ 10 Strike Missions, the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ two Gold Stars and one Silver Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Honor Medal First Class, as well as the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Army Parachutist Badge.

Retired 1984 with the highest honors from the U.S. Army as a Colonel.

Survived by two daughters, one son, three grandchildren and twin great-grandsons. Preceded in death by his spouse and one son who died in infancy; also by his only sibling.
