Andrew “Andy” S. Bigler III, known to his family and closest friend as “Puzzum”, 76, of Port Arthur, died peacefully “back home in the country”, Friday, May 8, 2015, at his daughters home in Larue, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1938, in Port Arthur, to Lorina Bigler and Andrew S. Bigler, Jr., had been a long time resident of the Port Arthur area.

Andy was a Funeral Associate at Broussard’s Mortuary, Nederland and worked many years in the banking industry in Nacogdoches and Nederland where he became well known in those communities. He always enjoyed quality time with his children and grandchildren and had high hopes of returning to the “country” soon. He also enjoyed leisurely rides down the country roads and was always ready to share directions down these roads at any given time. Andy was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree which he earned in 1984. He was a man that valued God first and family above all things. Many were very fortunate to see the giving side of a humble man in many areas of his life, whether it was advice to his family or a stranger down on their luck suffering from addictions.

Andy is survived by his daughters, Jeanette Meyers and her husband, Timothy, of Mabank; Tiffany Bledsoe and her husband, Russell, of Larue; Tara Malbrue, of Houston; and Tracy Landry, of Lufkin; grandchildren, Maycie Groth and her husband, Justin, of Dallas; Somer Meyers, of Austin; Matthew Bledsoe, of Larue; Army Specialist Robert Hawkins, Jr., of Katterbach, Germany; Brianna Malbrue, of San Antonio; Emily Bedair and Erin Landry, both of Lufkin; step-grandchildren, Christopher Bledsoe and his wife, Brittney Bledsoe, of Porter; Cody Bledsoe and Camryn Bledsoe, of Bay City; and step-great-grandchildren, Cayden, Kaitlyn, and Waylon.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Lorina Bigler and Andrew S. Bigler, Jr.; and sister, Alice Crawford.

A gathering of Mr. Bigler’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with his interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
