Marian Lee Freeman (Bakewell), born on September 10, 1926 in Brownsville, PA, passed away peacefully in her Fayette City home with her family by her side on the morning of February 12, 2015.

Mrs. Freeman served our country as a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II and went on to a long career in nursing at Brownsville Hospital. She was a member of Eastern Star and received meritorious recognition from Daughters of the American Revolution. Marian was a member of Brownsville First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed a full life with many close friends, family members and dogs being fortunate enough to have shared her zest for living and her love for the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John and her parents Lawrence and Ruth Bakewell as well as her brothers Eugene and Art and her sister Elizabeth.

Marian is survived by three generations of loving family, including daughters Candy and Tony Maholic, Penny and Jim Regent, Jackie and Jim Russ, and Julie and Michael Perry, and her son Jef Freeman and his wife Debi. She also leaves behind several grandchildren; Anthony and Amy Maholic, Kelly and Bob Muchowski, Jamie and Ryan Chandler, Kate and Joe Rostis, Bill and Tara Perry, Jay Russ, Michael Perry, Jon and Kim Russ, Missy and Jeff Farnier and Lori Aultz, Rebekah and Brandon Smith and Jessica and Qadree Chilery, and great grandchildren Emma, Natalie, Danielle, Joey, KateLynne, Vinny, Jimmy, Kaylee, Grayson, Clay, Gillian, Morgayne, Tyler, Garrett, Nunny, Caden, and Ethan, Landon and Lucy.

Friends and family will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA, on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

Funeral Services will follow at 8:00PM with Rev. Roger Diehl officiating.
