Violet Sauer, 93, formerly of Route 3 New Ulm died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue 7:30- 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Ellie Sauer and Dale and Nancy Sauer all of Plymouth, Harlon and Joyce Sauer of Green Valley, Ariz., Ernie and Marlene Sauer of New Ulm, seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; sisters-in-law, Erna Sauer of New Ulm, and Nora Haber of Sleepy Eye; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernst Sauer on April 20, 1972, a great grandchild, brothers Ed, George, Ernst and Earl; and sisters Bertha, Laura, Helen and Verna.

She was born May 7, 1905 in Sherburn to Gustav and Hulda (Bork) Haber. She attended rural school in both Redwood and Brown counties. She married Ernst Sauer on Sept. 18, 1929 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They farmed in Brown and Nicollet County. In the early 1990s he moved to Sunset Apartments in New Ulm. S he became a resident of the nursing home in 1995. She was a Tupperware Dealer. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
