He was born November 23, 1888, a son of the late George C. and Martha nee Sturgis Frankenburger.
He spent his early life in Springhill Township, Fayette County.
After attending West Virginia University he went to Jefferson Medical College., Philadelphia, from where he was graduated in 1911.
During WWI he served as a lieutenant in the Medical Corps.
He was a member of Phi Alpha Sigma Fraternity, Valley Lodge, S and AM and a 32nd degree Mason in the Shrine Temple, Pittsburgh.
He was a former member of the Carmichaels School Board and served on Borough Council for a number of years.
He was a member of Cumberland Post No. 400, American Legion, the Greene County Medical Association and was prominent in the Carmichaels Presbyterian Church.
He was survived by his wife, Hildred nee Hutchinson Frankenburger; one son, Robert S. Frankenburger of Clarion, PA.; one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Nicklas of Glenshaw, PA.; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. N. Sheavly of Rochester, N.Y.; and one brother, Roy T Frankenburger of Akron, OH..
