2015 May 09 - Cadillac - H Noreen MacConnell was born Saturday 30 Sep 1939 in Detroit to Edwin & Beverly (O’Connor) MacConnell. She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1957. She had been employed at Cad a Stran Ceramics, Butternut Bakery and several area restaurants. She was a member of St Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac. She had served as an officer of both the Wolverine State Archaeological Society and the Central States Archaeological Society. She also enjoyed bird watching, writing poems and collecting Native American Baskets. She was also an avid Detroit Lions fan. She married Donald E Gustafson Saturday 19 Apr 1958 in Cadillac.

H Noreen (MacConnell) Gustafson of Cadillac died Saturday 09 May 2015 at the age of 75 y 7 m 9 d at her home in Cadillac. Survivors included her husband, Donald; 4 children, Edwin Gustafson & Kim Marrison of Tustin, Donald J & Cindy Gustafson of Cadillac, Roxeanne Gustafson of Cadillac, and Rita & Dan Shankel of Creston, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Betsy & Lance Morris, Brenda Gustafson, Katie Gustafson, Daniel Gustafson, Daniel Shankel, Amy & Kris Sills and Lisa & Matt Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Katie & Jim Peterson of Gregory, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Edwin & Beverly; 1 brother, Theodore MacConnell; and 1 sister, Patricia Mercurio.

Visitation was 5-7 pm Tuesday 12 May 2015 at Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac and the Rosary was prayed at 6:30 pm Tuesday 12 May 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial was 11 am Wednesday 13 May 2015 at St Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac with Msgr Francis J Murphy as celebrant.

Burial was in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cadillac.

Memorial contributions were to be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
