Nancy Louisa Thompson is the youngest and 9th child of Samuel Jefferson Thompson and Sarah Ann Carter Thompson. She married Thomas Richard Sorrells Jan. 13, 1867 in Gilmer Co, Georgia. She is the mother of Samuel David, Martha Matilda, Tresa Allen, James Martin ( our line ), John William, Sarah Artie, Andrew Jackson, Richard, Nancy Louisa, Jesse Alfred and Homer Bartow. It is said that Nancy Louisa and her husband and family headed towards Texas in covered wagons pulled by oxen about 1893. I have found one of her son's Samuel David Sorrells and his family was in Sherman, Grayson Co, Texas in April of 1895. I have also found that her daughter Martha Matilda Sorrells gave birth in Jan. 1898 in Georgia to a son. This making it that some, not all of the family traveled from Geogia to Texas and on into Oklahoma in 1893. Nancy's headstone reads, Louease Sorrell June 20, 1851*Apr 28, 1901.
