St. George, Utah

Greg Amidan, 62 passed away April 29th, 2015 in St. George, Utah. Greg was born September 26th, 1952 in Ogden, Utah to George Ray and Marion Claire Amidan. He lived in Ogden & St. George. Greg was told at ten years old that he would not live to be 20. Despite that, he lived a full life from a free spirited hippie to a serious workaholic. From the time he was a little boy he loved playing with trucks and tractors, and he never outgrew that. He loved camping in the mountains, heavy equipment, and all things Coca Cola. He was an entrepreneur at heart, always pursuing new ideas for making it big. He could talk his way out or into anything. He loved his family & strove to be everything a dad could be. Greg is survived by his children Heidi (Casey), Staci (Isaac), Matthew, 10 grandkids, siblings Nanette (Brett) Reeves and Bruce (Chris) Amidan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Don Amidan, and Grandsons Adam & Ben. A special thanks to Mike Benson, who was there through thick & thin. Memorial services will be held May 9th @ 2:00pm at Heideman Hughes Mortuary (1037 E. 700 S. St. George, Utah) with graveside to follow at Ivins Cemetery. A potluck dinner will be held later that evening at 6:00pm at Canyon View Park for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Greg requested donations to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or to the Marion Amidan Reading Program at State Bank of Southern Utah (Santa Clara UT). Arrangements are under the direction of Heideman Hughes Mortuary. (435) 674-5000. Visit our website at www.heidemanhughesmortuary.com
