Min. Kecia C. Cook Carter, 51 of Aurora, CO passed April 15, 2015. She attended and was active in Colorado Christian Fellowship Church and maintained membership at Morning Star Baptist Church, Gulfport, MS. She was a graduate of Jackson State University where she majored in Mass Communications. While at Jackson State she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Min. Carter worked for several years as a Writer's Editor for the United States Department of Justice. She is survived by her husband, Michael Carter; one daughter, Tyra Carter both of Aurora, CO; parents, Anna and Robert Cook, Sr., Gulfport; four brothers, Luke, "Ricky" (Jennifer) Barnett, Indianapolis, IN, Robert (Janice) Cook, Jr., Slidell, LA, Tremayne (Deon) Barnett, Gulfport, MS, Ashton Barnett, Atlanta, GA; one sister, Cheryl (Rev. Terrence) Wells, Harleston, MS and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2015, Lockett-Williams Mortuary, Inc. Funeral: 11 am, Friday, April 24, 2015, Morning Star Baptist Church. Visitation: 10 am.
