Clifton J. Taylor Sr., age 84, of Richmond, departed this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2006.
Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Ellen Taylor; four children, Clifton Jr. and Barry Taylor, Aleta Batts and Donna Fair; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two devoted daughters-in-law, Sethia Taylor and Jane Taylor; a devoted son-in-law, Anthony Fair Sr.; three sisters, Sarah Kane, Ruth Jackson and Grace Baccus; one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Taylor served in the Navy and worked for the U. S. Postal Service until his retirement.
He was a member of the Old Timers, the Loving Union, the U. S. Postal Alliance and a former Mason.
Remains rested at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. After 10am Tuesday, January 17, 2006, remains rested at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 216 W. Leigh St., where funeral services were held at 11am. Dr. Levy Armwood, officiated. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
