Timmy Eugene Poplin, 54, of New London passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in his home.
His funeral service will be 2 PM Friday, May 15, 2015 in Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
Mr. Poplin was born September 14, 1960 to Doris Eudy Poplin Rowland and the late Marvin Poplin.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather Bill Rowland.
He was a farmer and brick mason and was a member of Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church.
Mr. Poplin is survived by his wife Phyllis Eudy Poplin of the home. Other survivors include son Wesley Poplin and wife Sara of Albemarle, daughter Hailey Calloway and husband Dustin of New London, brothers Wayne Poplin, Brian Poplin and Mark Poplin all of Albemarle, sister Patty Landis of Charlotte, grandchildren Jayden and Avery Calloway.
