The original 80 acres purchased by the father of James Isaac Bruner, William Joshua Bruner, was a homestead at Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. Land was later purchased at Marianna, Jackson County, Florida where The Bruner Family Cemetery is located and where the Bruners farmed along with the help of daughter Leander Mae ("Ann) Bruner Whitfield and her sons after the loss of her husband, William Watson Whitfield whose precious life was lost in The War Between the States. William Watson "Dock" Whitfield is my GG Grandfather. (Nancy Yankie, Whitfield/Bruner Descendant)
