She married Cline McKay in Warren on September 12, 1921. The McKays first made their home in Warren and moved to Pine Bluff in 1931. Mr. McKay died April 15, 1947.
After Mr. McKay's death, Mrs. Rule taught at Pine Bluff Junior High School for ten years. She married Dr. E. Clifton Rule in Pine Bluff December 26, 1957. Dr. Rule had a distinguished career in the Methodist ministry and as a Methodist church District Superintendent until his death on November 5, 1976.
She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, a women's Bible class, and junior high students, serving on various church committees. She was a member and past president of United Methodist Women at Lakeside, also holding office at the UMW Conference level. The past member of the Sesame Club was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Magna Carta Dames, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Survivors include her daughter, June McKay Bradford and son-in-law, Turner, of Pine Bluff; half-brother, Henry Lee Turner of Morrilton, Arkansas; half-sister, Martha Ann Turner Miles of Indianapolis, Indiana; granddaughter, Annette Atkinson Skinner of Killeen, Texas; step-grandchildren, Jay Bradford of White Hall, Knox Bradford of Hot Springs, and Sarah Bales of Dallas, Texas; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
The memorial service will be Thursday, 2:00 PM, at Lakeside United Methodist Church with the Reverends Mary Susan Hilliard, George Williams, and Ted DeWeese officiating.
