Mrs. Mallory was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange where she was President of the Baptist Women and Women's Missionary Union; Director of First Baptist Women's Association; and a member of the church choir. She organized the Flower Committee in the 1970's. She served as President of the LaGrange Council of Church Women.
She was a member and President of the LaGrange Cotillion Club and sang in the Lafayette Singers. She was a member of Tabard Book Club and Talisman Garden Club and served on the Board of Directors of Camp Viola. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Plantagenet Society: Kings and Queens of England.
Mrs. Mallory is survived by five children; Richard H. Mallory, Jr. and wife Dale; Paul S. Mallory and wife Jan; William L. Mallory, of LaGrange; Robert W. Mallory and wife Heidi, of Locust Grove; and Georgia M. Fortner and husband Ken, of Ducula. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Joanna Mallory Dowd and her husband Aaron H. Dowd; Matthew H. Mallory and wife Amanda S. Mallory; Paul S. Mallory, Jr.; Pierson Mallory Lefebvre and husband, Craig N. Lefebvre; Emily H. Mallory; Robert W. Mallory, Jr.; William H. Fortner and Jacob H. Fortner; three great grandchildren; Jackson Henry Mallory; McRae Catherine Mallory; and Mattie Dale Mallory; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Mallory, Sr. and a daughter, Diana and a brother, Paul Hammett, Jr.
Mrs. Mallory was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed music, flowers, decorating, gardening, bird watching, and caring for her pets.
Services will be held on May 16, 2015 at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church on the Square with visitation immediately after the service in the Welcome Center. A private family graveside service will be held after visitation in Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange.
Memorial donations may be made to Camp Viola or First Baptist Church on the Square.
